Taking a break…

There come times when you aren’t able to do what you originally set out to do. Unfortunately, I’ve hit that point.

I set out to make Stayclassy.net a blog that friends and fans could visit with expectations of frequent updated content, thoughts and the odd joke or two. Most of the time I did that, except the joke part… I’ve never been a funny guy. Lately I haven’t been able to meet any of these expectations and there are two reasons.

First of all, I’m tired of hockey. I’ve watched more hockey games over the last two seasons than I care to admit. I enjoyed them all, but as good as the games and players are, I’m so sick of reading about rules, injuries, headshots, trades that never happen (mostly E2′s and up), dirty hits and all the other crap like that. I’d like to see blogs and media talk about hockey again. Not the sideshow garbage that feels like hockey tabloid material. I’m talking real analysis. There’s a handful of great blogs who do that and I consider Stayclassy.net one of them (minus the great part).  Point is, we all talk about how great the game of hockey is. But most blogs and media outlets don’t want to highlight this with great goals and saves. Instead, they want to blackball hockey with headline grabbing headshot and injuries debates. That’s the kind of hockey talk I’m tired of seeing, hearing and talking about. I’m hoping I can recharge by avoiding any and all headshot coverage, although that could be difficult.

Secondly (and more importantly), I have some personal things that are taking priority in life. I won’t elaborate, but I need to get things back in order before I can get back to Stayclassy.net. There’s no real time-table here, but I’m hoping I can be back sooner than later. I wasn’t planning on bringing this up, but I’ve had a number of people ask, demand and threaten me with embarrassing childhood pictures and stories if no explanation was given. For obvious reasons, I’ve decided to comply.

Anyways, I’ll be on Twitter and Facebook every now and then. And I’m reachable via email if you ever need anything. Stayclassy.net isn’t going away, it’s taking a break. Ill-fated words? Perhaps, but I have a few loose ends I need to tie up in order to get Stayclassy.net up and running and offending everyone like never before. Now is as good a time as any to sign up for our RSS feed. That way you’ll know exactly when Stayclassy.net returns. I’m still available for bad karaoke, worse company, Tiger Woods 2009 (on Xbox) and Bar Mitzvah’s, for those who might be interested. But seriously, thank you for understanding.

Stay classy, everyone. See you soon!
