Pretty slow these days in the hockey world as long as you don’t count the business side of the NHL.

And given that I don’t really feel like taking about the NHLPA or the Phoenix Coyotes, I thought I would post the fourth letter in a series of open letters to Marian Hossa.

Dear Mr. Hossa,

I hope the summer months have been treating you well. I know you have had to shoulder a pretty big load about all that hockey karma stuff, and that’s probably why you had that off season surgery. How is that going by the way?

Mr. Hossa, please ready the open letters we write you...

I guess you owe Patrick Kane a pretty big fruit basket for taking some of the attention away from your ridiculous (and strangely under investigation) 12-year contract. That cab driver must have been a blessing eh?

Anyways Mr. Hossa, I know that you have been giving a lot of thought to this whole hockey karma thing. And to be frank, if you will allow me, I still haven’t received an acknowledgement of my first, second and third letters to you. That is why I am writing this.

You see, folks in Chicago are a little worried about this little Stanley Cup drought you’re on. You know the one; two years in a row, losing the Cup in front of your home crowd. Remember?

Anyways, it is not really your fault. No Ottawa Senators draft picks have ever won a Cup, so if you politely explain that to the Chicago fans, they probably won’t be too hard on you.

I guess the reason for this letter is to thank you though. I think the hockey gods have now transfered the Senators curse to you and you exclusively. So basically, the Ottawa Senators are probably going to win the Stanley Cup. Which, as you have almost known twice, is kind of cool.

Stay classy, Mr. Hossa. I am glad we have finally figured this out.
